Scratching your head?

This rural marketing agency FAQ covers the most common questions people ask before getting in touch, and working with, Boundary agency.

If you don't see your question in here, feel free to flick me message.

About Boundary Agency

Do you work unassisted on location, or do you need a full crew?

Unassisted. I travel and shoot solo, so no crew logistics to manage on your end.

Can you work with businesses outside agriculture?

Agriculture is the focus, and it's where the work is strongest. If you're rural but not strictly ag, get in touch and we'll see if it's a fit.

Do you only work with livestock operations?

No. Cropping, livestock, studs, agricultural finance, ag-tech, rural contracting. If it's agricultural, it's in scope.

What industries do you work with?

Farms, stations, studs, agricultural finance, ag-tech, and rural service businesses, really anyone working in or around Australian agriculture.

What makes Boundary Agency different from other marketing agencies?

I grew up on a cattle farm in South Australia and spent two years working stations in the Kimberley before building a career in content and social media. Most agencies working in agriculture haven't done the work themselves. I have.

What areas do you service?

Australia-wide for social media, brand, and website work. On-property photography and stud photography currently covers the whole of Australia, with travel considered case by case.

Where is Boundary Agency based?

Anywhere & everywhere, but usually based somewhere between SA & VIC. I travel to properties across South Australia, Northern Territory, Victoria, New South Wales, and beyond for shoots and on-property work.

What does Boundary Agency do?

Boundary Agency is a rural marketing agency for farms, stations, and agricultural businesses across Australia. Social media management, brand strategy and identity, website design, and photography, all handled by someone who's actually worked the land.

Working with Boundary Agency

Can I book you for a one-off project instead of ongoing work?

Yes! Brand, website, and photography work are all one-off by default. Only social media management is a retainer.

What if I need changes or extra work partway through a project?

Tell me and we'll scope it properly. Nothing's locked so rigidly that it can't adjust.

Do you provide raw files?

Final edited files are standard. Raw files can be arranged if you need them, ask at booking.

Do you offer ongoing support after a project is complete?

Yes, where it makes sense. Websites get 30 days of minor tweaks included; beyond that, ongoing support is available if you want it.

Who provides the content, copy, or images for a project?

Whatever you've got, I'll use. What's missing, I'll create, whether that's copywriting, photography, or both.

When can you start?

Depends on the season and the queue, get in touch and I'll give you a real answer, not a guess.

How do you price your work?

Project work is scoped and quoted individually, I'll tell you exactly what's involved and what it costs before anything starts. Retainers have set monthly pricing shared on request.

Do you lock clients into contracts?

Ongoing retainers (social media management) need 30 days' notice to pause or cancel, with a minimum three-month term to start. Project work, websites, brand, photography, has no ongoing lock-in.

What's the first step to working with Boundary Agency?

A conversation. No intake form, no funnel, just tell me what you're trying to build, and we go from there.

Social Media Management

Do you guarantee follower growth?

No, anyone who guarantees a specific number is lying. What I guarantee is consistent, quality content and strategic growth tactics. Most clients see steady, organic growth over three to six months.

Can we pause or cancel if needed?

Yes. Monthly retainers need 30 days' notice to pause or cancel. If you need to pause for a quiet season, that's easy to arrange.

What if I already have some content?

Perfect. I'll use your existing photos and videos where they fit, no point paying me to reshoot what you've already got. We just fill the gaps.

What if we're too busy during seeding, mustering, or calving?

I plan shoots around your calendar, not mine. If we need to reschedule because you're flat out, that's completely normal, I've lived it, I get it.

How do you handle content shoots if we're remote?

I travel to you, anywhere in Australia. Accommodation on-site is appreciated but not required, I can sort my own if needed. Shoots are usually one to two full days, scheduled around your availability.

What if I'm not comfortable on camera?

No problem. Most content focuses on the property, the work, and the day-to-day, not you personally. If you'd rather stay behind the scenes, I work around that completely. But there's nothing a bit of practice can't fix!

Do I need to be active on social media myself?

No. I can handle everything — posting, replies, engagement. You can be as hands-off as you want. Some clients review the content calendar once a month and let me run with it. Others like to stay closer to it. Either way works.

Do I need social media if I'm just selling to processors?

Probably not daily posting. But if you want to build a reputation in the industry, or make it easier when you do need to hire, a lighter package still helps — it keeps you visible without needing a full retainer. Otherwise, a one-off project when you need one works fine.

Livestock Marketing

How do I get pricing?

Get in touch with your sale date, rough lot numbers, and location, and I'll put together a quote.

Will the video have our stud's branding on it?

Yes. Send through your logo and the lot or sale information at booking, and it's built into every video.

Do you travel outside South Australia?

Yes, into Victoria and New South Wales. If you're further out again, ask, we can work something out!

Can you cover the whole sale day, not just the lot photos?

Yes, sale day and event coverage is available separately. Get in touch and I'll scope it.

What's the difference between Per Head and Standout?

Per Head is solid, consistent coverage for every lot in the sale. Standout is for the ones that carry it, sires, donor cows, feature females, with more time, more angles, and a level of finish built for ongoing marketing, not just the one catalogue.

Do I need to prep the animals before the shoot?

A clean, settled animal photographs better, but that's it, I'm not expecting show-ring prep. Tell me what you're planning and I'll work with it.

What if the weather's bad on the day?

We reschedule. A sale catalogue is worth waiting a day or two for good light and a dry yard.

How far out do I need to book before the sale?

As early as you can, especially in peak sale season. Locking in a date early means I can plan around your property and your timeline properly, rather than squeezing it in.

Can I just get photos, or just video?

Either. Photo, video, or both, you choose what you need per booking.

Do you shoot ram studs, cattle studs, or both?

Both. Whatever you're running, I'll come and shoot it.

Brand Identity & Design

What files do I actually get at the end?

Everything, the logo in every format you'll need (web, print, embroidery, signage), a full colour and type system, and a guidelines document so anyone using your brand later gets it right.

How long does a brand project take?

Most run three to six weeks depending on scope, from discovery through to file delivery. A refresh is faster; a full rebuild with brand guidelines takes longer. I'll give you a real timeline in the proposal, not a guess.

Do you do strategy without the identity work?

No, the thinking and the build go together. A positioning document that never turns into a logo and a system is just a document sitting in a drawer.

Can I get a refresh instead of a full rebrand?

Yes, and often that's the better call. If your branding's mostly working, a refresh, updated logo, tightened colours, cleaner guidelines, costs less and gets you further than starting from zero. I'll tell you which one you actually need.

What if I don't know what I need?

That's completely normal, most clients don't. That's what the discovery call is for. I'll help you work out what actually makes sense based on your goals and budget, not just sell you the biggest package.
