Copywriting for Farms and Agricultural Businesses

Words that sound like you, not like a brochure. Copywriting comes as part of a website build.

What I do

Most ag websites read like they were written by someone who's never been on a farm. Because usually they were.

The problem isn't bad writing, it's that whoever wrote it didn't know what mattered. So you get "committed to excellence in agricultural solutions" instead of what the business actually does and why anyone should care.

I write copy in your voice. That means listening to how you actually talk about your operation, then getting it down without the polish. Plain, direct, no filler. If it can be said in five words, it gets said in five words.

Copy comes as part of a website build, the two go together, because writing copy for a site that doesn't exist yet is guesswork, and designing a site around copy that doesn't exist is worse.

Who it's for

Anyone building a website with me who'd rather not write it themselves. Which is most people, knowing your business inside out and being able to write about it are two different skills.

Worth knowing

I don't take copywriting on its own. It's part of a website build. And if you'd rather write it yourself, that's completely fine, I'll design around what you give me, and it costs less. Some people know exactly what they want to say. Others would rather hand it over. Either works.

What's included

  • Full website copy: every page
  • Headlines, body copy, and calls to action
  • Tone of voice matched to how you actually talk
  • SEO-aware writing: keywords in naturally, not stuffed
  • Meta titles and descriptions
  • Two rounds of revisions
  • Copy is included in a website build.

Pricing depends on the number of pages and whether I'm writing it or you are.

How it works

01

We Talk

Not a questionnaire. A conversation about what you do, who you're for, and what you want people to understand. Most of the good stuff comes out of how you describe it yourself.

02

Structure First

What pages exist and what each one needs to do, before a word gets written. Otherwise you end up with pages that exist because every website has them.

03

Draft

I write it, you read it, you tell me what doesn't sound like you. Usually a couple of rounds.

04

Into the Build

Copy's locked before design starts, so the site gets built around what you're actually saying rather than the other way around.
